Built Where You Drive: Honda Leads 2026 American Index

When you think of an "American-made" vehicle, it represents local pride, reliable craftsmanship, and knowing it was built to handle American roads by the people who live on them.

The latest results from the Cars.com 2026 American-Made Index® reinforce that standard, placing Honda at the top of the automotive industry with five different models ranking inside the Top 10.

That’s right, count ‘em, FIVE!

In fact, over the entire 21-year history of this index, Honda has earned more top-tier placements than any other automotive brand. But who’s keeping track, right??

For local Florida buyers, it means that when you get into a Honda, you are driving a vehicle deeply rooted in local communities like right here in Orlando.

Did You Know? More than 62% of all Honda vehicles sold in the U.S. last year were built right here in the USA. And it doesn’t stop there!

Last year (2025), nearly 99% of all Honda vehicles sold in the U.S. were made in North America (USA, Canada, and Mexico).

To me it feels great to support a brand that continues to invest heavily in the American market and steadily provides thousands of Americans with work opportunities.

Google Gemini is Coming to Your Honda Dashboard!

I know what you’re thinking when you hear Built-In Voice Commands, but hear me out! PLEASE!

We’ve all been there. You’re driving down Semoran, you press the steering wheel button, and now you have to talk like a bored robot just to get the navigation to understand an address. (Not all award-winning systems are created equal, after all!)

You repeat yourself three times, get frustrated, and end up just typing it into your phone at a red light anyway.

Raise your hand if you’ve been there.

BUT!!!

Honda is officially moving to remove that frustrating experience!

Select new Honda models equipped with Google built-in are receiving an over-the-air upgrade to Google Gemini—turning your dashboard into a genuinely smart, highly intuitive AI assistant.

Traditional voice systems treat every command like a brand-new sentence hence all the awkward pauses, but Gemini AI actually listens to the big picture and tracks the conversation across multiple steps. It’s like talking to a person!

Here are the current models slated to receive this update.

The Honda Trail Experience App is Here!

Say hello to the Honda Trail Experience (HTX) app.

Developed directly by members of the North American automotive development team alongside more than 1,500 real-world off-roaders, the HTX app is a dedicated, high-tech telemetry tool built exclusively for the rugged TrailSport line (including the Passport TrailSport, Pilot TrailSport, and CR-V TrailSport).

It hooks right into Apple CarPlay to display critical data like your exact tire angle, elevation, pitch, and roll right on your dashboard screen.

Even cooler? It’s the first factory app that lets you record your off-road adventures using your iPhone's camera while automatically overlaying your live vehicle performance data directly onto the video clip.

It looks exactly like a telemetry hud from a high-end racing simulator. It’s awesome!

The caveat: Android phone owners are out of luck for now. The HTX app is available exclusively on Apple iPhones for the time being. HOWEVER, Honda engineers have confirmed that an Android version is currently in development and will be coming soon.

So if you’ve been eyeing a rugged new TrailSport model to tackle the beach or woods, this free upgrade can make venturing off the beaten path a little easier and more fun!
